Charlotte G’s Malteser Cake

  • Box or large bag of maltesers
  • 12 crushed digestive biscuits
  • 4oz (125g) margarine
  • 1 tbsp syrup
  • 6oz (175g) chocolate
  • Topping – 11oz (325g) chocolate
  1. Melt the margerine, syrup and chocolate
  2. Add malesers and digestives
  3. Press mixture into a tray/dish
  4. Allow to cool
  5. Topping – Melt the chocolate and cover the base
  6. Allow to set in the fridge
  7. Remove from fridge so that chocolate is not too hard, then slice.

A recipe to mark the start of my new hardcore diet!

    Malteser Cheesecake (by Jamie Oliver)

    200 g Malteser
    250 g Shortbread cookies (Butterkekse)
    150 g Butter
    500 ml Sour cream
    600 g Cream cheese (like Philadelphia)
    170 g Sugar
    4 Eggs
    Lemon zest of 1 lemon
    Vanilla (I used 2 tablespoons of vanilla sugar)
    1 Bar of chocolate

    Line a normal sized spring form baking pan with baking paper (makes it easier to take it out in the end).

    Crumble the cookies and the Malteser and mix them with melted butter. Press the mixture into the spring form.

    Mix sour cream, cream chesse, egg yolks, sugar, lemon cest and vanilla.

    Whisk stiff the eggwhite and add to this mixture.
    Fill on took of the cookie mixture.

    Break the bar of chocolate into pieces and spread it over the cake (gently pushing them in).

    Bake in the preheated oven at 170 degree Celsius for about 60 minutes.
