Chromatic Menu Planning

Writing about http://theschooloflife.typepad.com/the_school_of_life/2008/12/a-nine-course-chromatic-culinary-feast-.html

I have been challenged on Facebook by Ellie Clewlow at Intersecting Sets to think about this.

I’m going to try and do so without referring to Tessa Kiros’s Apples for Jam which is themed in colour chapters.

I’d be happy to help choose the wine :-)…and you could invite Prole Art Threat to contribute a compilation tape (and the last word in that sentence marks me out as middle-aged…)

Not so much chromatic menu planning as pedantry, but if anyone has a suggestion for a (complementary) purple veg to put in fajitas so I could have all the colour groups included I would be very grateful. Sometimes orange, red, green, yellow, white and brown just ain’t enough.

This is of course nothing to do with taste, purely my own sense of completeness calling out…

    OK, I admit I’m a bit of a nutter.

    Purple Sprouting or Red Cabbage?
