CommUnicate – Staff Newsletter Design Tender

I know that graphic designers and professional copywriters consider
corporate newsletter work as the bread–and–butter nadir of creativity –
but internal print newsletters remain an underestimated and valuable
internal comms tool.

  • Many of our internal stakeholders still hold print in higher esteem than intranet space.
  • Many don’t find time to keep up–to–date online and prefer something that lands on their desk.
  • A print publication has a different tone to online information.
  • It can be read at home, en–route or in the bath!
  • It reaches people without regular PC–access (still a significant proportion of our staff).
  • And it hangs around in unexpected places so we’d better make a good job of it!

So here is our Design Tender and Covering Letter

The trick is to remember to always ask the question:

Why do you want a newsletter?

we all know, when people have any kind of a comms issue the first
reaction is always that they need a newsletter – and it is almost never
the right solution once you’ve found out what the problem is.

NB: This is rapidly being replaced by webpages… I need to communicate – I need a website.

But the basics still hold true…
