Kung Fu Hustle – Contender for Best Film Ever

Kung Fu Hustle [2005]
5 out of 5 stars

It has it all: great fight scenes, comedy characters and action, dancing gangsters, romantic subplot etc.

Himself bought it from CD Wow and we settled down with lots of chocolate and guinness cake and hot tea to watch it.

It’s the kind of film that makes you grin from ear to ear and sit forward in your seat almost from the first scene.

(Triad boss with a cowboy hat and dancing gangsters in the film’s opening scenes.)

It’s beautifully shot and the costumes, sets and characterisation are superb.

To top it all off the fight scenes are unspeakably good – choreographed by Yuen Wo-Ping (Kill Bill 1 & 2 and The Matrix).

The director is Stephen Chow (Shaolin Soccer) – which I’ve not seen and am now desperate to see.

don’t think I could stand to hear a word against it. In fact I enjoyed
it so much I might suggest that we watch it again tonight.

See the IMDB entry

Go and watch it immediately.
