Cats’ Protection Homing Event

When: 18 February between 10am and 12pm
Where: Earlsdon Methodist Church Hall

<= Ebony

Ebony
had been fending for herself with a broken tail for about 4 months
before we rescued her. Her tail had to be removed and her collar cut
off as it had been so tight it left terrible scars on her neck. Ebony
is very affectionate but occasionally gets a bit frightened, I’m sure a
good home would put her at ease.

Patrick =>

Patrick (named after Patrick Moore because of his staring eye!)

Patrick
is about 6 years old and was rescued last October with a horrific
facial injury. Fortunately he hasn’t lost the use of his eye and his
face is on the mend. He is responding to lots of TLC and deserves a second chance at happiness.

Cats Protection is a national charitable organisation founded in 1927.
It is Britain’s oldest charity solely for the welfare of cats.

Sprackle At PlayCoventry
Branch was founded in 1954 by six local volunteers. The Branch cares
for between 50 and 100 cats and kittens at any one time until they can
be placed in new homes. All these cats and kittens are looked after by
foster parents, who are all volunteers.

This is where we got the lovely Sprackle from and I can heartily recommend them. They are lovely people and they do good work.

When she first arrived I wrote:

She
is tiny and pretty and needs feeding up (her previous owners fed her
and 10 other cats on curry and chips). How can people do that kind of
thing? She eats lots and is becoming accustomed to more conventional
cat food.

Oh – we’ve come a long way since then!

Grins ruefully.

Some things don’t change though – she’s still an attention seeker and she still eats for Britain and we still love her.

  • We too got our cat, Willow, from Coventry Cats Protection – like you say, they do a wonderful job.

    Don’t
know how Willow got to them, but she was pregnant, and only a year or
so old. Another childhood pregnancy, another example of the declining
moral standards among this nation’s feline population ;-)

  • I want one. But I jost won’t have the time to look after one properly for the next couple of years. :(

  • We
got 2 of our cats from Cats Protection in Tewksbury, and the other 2
from people who’s cats had had litters because they couldn’t be
bothered to spay them. I’d adopt every cat in the world, but I can’t
have cats where I live right now (student house). My Mum and I are
going to set up our own cat sanctuary in a few years once I’ve got some
money. Really we are, probably going to be in Cornwall.

  • Of
all the charity shops in Kenilworth, and there are quite a few, Cats
Protection always has the best stuff, hands down! :) They rule :)

  • I
want one of them!! Sadly what with regulations being as they are that’s
not possible for a little while yet. It’s a shame really. Cats are so
soothing I’m such they’d make a great addition to the pastoral side of
    the Residential System!
